About Kelly

Kelly Haas is a Certified Anusara Yoga Teacher, RYT-500, Thai Yoga practitioner, avid Spanish-speaker, a native North Carolinian, lover of life, sports, music, and nature.  She is sought after for her skilled eyes and hands in therapeutics and alignment based yoga, and teaches and travels widely across the US, Latin America, and Asia.

Kelly spent several years living, teaching yoga, and directing the yoga program at Pura Vida Spa in Costa Rica (www.puravidaspa.com). She had the great fortune to manage the world tour for John Friend, Founder of Anusara Yoga, for 6 years, receiving countless hours of philosophy, asana, therapeutics, and hands-on adjustment training around the world.
Her deep understanding of the therapeutic benefits of the practice, along with her playful, firey nature, make her classes informative, challenging, and uplifting. She considers it a great honor to teach, and strives to help each student restore health, vitality, and energy to their hearts, bodies and minds.

 About Jen

Jennifer Richard is a professor-in-training, and is very excited to be finishing her PhD in 2014!  She has been an instructor at the university-level for 4 years, teaching in the political science departments at both Tulane University and Louisiana State University. She has Master’s degrees in both religion and political science, and currently teaches courses in political theory and comparative politics.  When she isn’t teaching in the classroom, she can most likely be found teaching in a yoga studio.  She started teaching yoga asana in 2009 and yoga philosophy in 2011.  In 2010 she completed a 350-hour teacher training program that exposed her to a wide range of lineages and traditions.  It was during this time that Jennifer fell in love with alignment-based yoga and when she met two of her primary teachers, Cat McCarthy and Jordan Bloom.  She finds the alignment-based practice to be challenging, therapeutic, and incredibly enjoyable.  Today, Jennifer continues to study functional anatomy, yoga history and philosophy, and yoga asana with knowledgeable and respected teachers.  The philosophy tradition she personally finds most freeing is the Rajanaka yoga tradition taught by her dear friend and teacher Prof. Douglas Brooks and one can expect these philosophical ideas to permeate her style of teaching.  She aims for her classes to be informative, insightful, and inspiring.  If she could sum them up, she would use the words of a student who commented, “Your class is vigorous, but really fun.”
