Change Your Life in 7 Days: Yoga Retreat in Koh Samui, Thailand with Jessica

Ditch your daily grind to spend a week in a stunning tropical paradise — Koh Samui, Thailand.  A retreat far away from your worries and responsibilities gives your body and mind the space to expand, the freedom to create, and the comfort to heal.
Each morning, we practice yoga, pranayama and meditation in a stunning shala overlooking the blue tropical waters.
You’re ravenous after the morning yoga. You indulge in delicious meals without gaining weight….including fresh juices, sweet tropical fruits, crisp salads, warm homemade bread, even optional fish and eggs, fresh jam, spicy Thai specialties.
In the afternoons I teach you how to observe your pulse, tongue, skin and more to diagnose your imbalances. We discuss how you’ll tweak your diet, change your lifestyle, and practice yoga to establish balance at home.
In your free time you pamper yourself with a massage, enjoy reading by the beach, or exploring local Buddhist culture
At the end of the retreat, you feel lighter, relaxed and happy.
You have a clear idea how to take care of yourself naturally. Without drugs. Without fad diets.
You’re practically your own health superhero!

About the Retreat

Let’s face it.
The one-size-fits-all approach to health fails.

Otherwise, we could all follow the same diet and lose weight, lower cholesterol, blood pressure, and control blood sugar. But the truth is, a diet of vegan raw foods works from some, and the paleo diet works for others.

Are you among the hordes of people who feel confused by the empty promises of fad diets, or whose health problems are ignored by Western Medicine?

Yoga’s sister science, Ayurveda, tackles health problems in a fresh new way. Backed by 5,000 years of practice, this wise alternative medicine uses natural tools like foods, herbs and lifestyle. And rather than promoting pill popping and invasive surgery, Ayurveda prescribes long-term changes that actually boost your energy.

Be warned. After this retreat you’ll have tons of your friends and family knocking on your door for sane health care advice.

Over seven days, you’ll learn the basics of Ayurvedic theory and how to apply the principles to yourself, your family and your students. By reviewing your health history, your current situation, and your goals, you’ll learn how to apply the theory to your everyday life. Jessica teaches you how to understand the principles and methods enough to start to use it in your life. And then you’ll have a comprehensive reference guide for when you return home.

Benefits of using Ayurvedic methods include:

  • Tremendous boost in energy and overall health
  • Prevention of diseases over the long term
  • Improved immunity and vitality
  • Resolution of many problems western medicine finds hard to treat: like migraines,
  • Living seasonally and in harmony with the environment
  • Using natural methods to take care of yourself

Some of the topics we’ll cover in the retreat include:

  • Ayurvedic theory and background: doshas, gunas, elements, tissues
  • How to think Ayurvedically
  • Methods of diagnosis – touch – pulse, skin; observation; questioning
  • Practicing the methods on one another
  • How to figure out your constitution (and to help other people)
  • How to design an Ayurvedic diet for each dosha and to treat imbalances
  • How to apply ayurvedic logic to solve common health problems
  • How to design your yoga practice to fit your unique situation
  • How to apply Ayurveda to your life right now without adding hours to your daily routine

Attendees will receive a free electronic copy of Jessica’s upcoming eBook: Ayurveda: Simple, Natural and Practical Methods for a Balanced Life

The morning sessions we will apply Ayurveda to Pranayama, Meditation and Asana practice.  For example, learn and experience what a vata-pacifying asana practice would comprise.

The afternoon sessions you’ll learn all about the theories and practice the diagnostic methods.

There are many routes to Thailand via Asia or Europe. I usually book an international ticket from New Orleans to Bangkok, then a separate ticket from Bangkok to Koh Samui with Bangkok Airways. The flight to Samui is one hour and very easy. There is a comfy lounge for all travelers with free coffee, internet, and snacks while you wait.

If you’re interested but worried about travel, please contact me (jessica (@) I traveled to Samui with my son Dylan last year, and it was long, but fine. I will travel to Samui one or two days before the retreat start, you’re welcome to join me in the travel over.
