I participated in an informal 200-hour equivalent yoga teaching training led by students and monks at The Dali Lama Institute for Higher Education in Bangalore, India in 2014. I then completed my prenatal yoga teacher training at Swan River Yoga with Jessica Blanchard, Kelly Haas, Michelle Baker, and Addy Meisenheimer in New Orleans in 2016. In November 2018, I completed Swan River Yoga's 400-hour teacher training and am a Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance.

MY INSPIRATION

Growth, acceptance, and empowerment.

WHY I PRACTICE

I practice for love. Yoga embodies my belief in love, the healing power of true self love, and the agency we have over ourselves, our bodies, our emotions, and our actions. I practice  because I believe the world needs us to work from love and compassion, both of which I find daily on the mat.

WHY I TEACH

I teach from love. As a doula and teacher, I hold space for women and their families. The lessons demonstrated by the pains and challenge of labor have not been lost on me. We have to become very uncomfortable to make space for new life. We must contract and rearrange to adapt and remain focused on our motives. Teaching allows me to hold space and guide students through challenges and change, which are often in the name of love, and I cannot think of a better way to spend my time. I seek to help students relax, tune into their bodies, and build confidence through mindful breath work, intentional movement, and cultivation of a deeper relationship with themselves.
