Sunday Jan 26: Pranayama Workshop

Pranayama Intensive with Jessica Blanchard

Have you tried to meditate,, but feel like your mind won’t stop planning, worrying, obsessing?

Do you easily lose your temper with your loved-ones -- often over small details you wish didn’t bother you?

Have you noticed that you frequently feel anxious and nervous, and can’t seem to get out of it?

If this is you, I hear you. I used to work in a corporate job, and I had no idea how to stop getting stressed and anxious. In 2003 I began to study pranayama with my longtime mentor and friend, Paul Dallaghan. I then met his teacher Sri O.P. Tiwari. Since those days I’ve continued my study and practice of Pranayama. It’s helped me through many challenges -- childbirth, running a business and even taking the MCAT.

In yoga, working with the breath is an important way to create calm, balance and wellbeing. Pranayama has a deep an long-lasting impact when practiced with regularity, but it can be difficult to know how to start and practice safely.

In this workshop, I’ll introduce pranayama (yogic breathwork) through the careful study of traditional techniques and support for each individual. You’ll learn a bit about the anatomy of breathing. I’ll lead you through basic techniques, and teach you how to practice these at home.

After the workshop, you’ll know exactly how to practice pranayama in a safe and effective manner. Over time, pranayama practice will help you to feel calm, clear and balanced.
