Learn the fundamentals of the Ashtanga yoga practice in a slow, safe and comprehensive manner.
In this seven week series you learn Sun Salutations, the fundamental standing postures, accessible seated postures, breathing techniques, and philosophy of the Ashtanga yoga system. Your teacher will introduce the Mysore approach to learning. We keep class size small so you get lots of attention.
Students seeking a physically challenging yoga practice or curious about Ashtanga yoga. If you like using your body’s strength and breaking a sweat, this series will improve your strength and flexibility.
Stephen Link has been studying and practicing Yoga for the last 8 years. Stephen teaches what he calls “Unorthodox Ashtanga,” which utilizes the sequences of Ashtanga Yoga as templates which can and should be modified in order to meet the needs of each body. Stephen holds a Bachelors Degree in Religious Studies, an emphasis in Indian Philosophy, and the completion of a 1000 hour Yoga Teacher Training through Naropa University in Boulder, CO.
