Sundays 5:30pm: Fat Kid Yoga Club

Radical Acceptance Yoga by Tammie Quintana Photography

Sundays 5:30pm starting in September 2019
Taught by Marc Settembrino

Do you want to try yoga -- but you feel like your body is too big, stiff, or just not "right" for yoga?

Fat Kid Yoga Club provides a place where practitioners of all levels and folks in plus-size/bigger bodies can experience the benefits of yoga.

Here you'll celebrate your body through movement and accept what's possible one practice at a time. This class combines breath with movement and alignment-based instruction. Perfect for all bodies and levels of experience.

Class in collaboration with Jaci Blue - "Where Beauty Is A Mindset Not A Waistline."

Donation based class, $5-$15

Marc Settembrino

Marc Settembrino is a sociologist and yoga teacher based in Hammond, LA. He received his Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Central Florida in 2013. His research examines homelessness in the context of disaster.

Marc began practicing yoga in 2015. He credits yoga with helping him grieve his father’s death and helping him balance his personal and professional lives. In 2017,  Marc completed Annie Carpenter’s 200hr SmartFLOW yoga teacher training.  As a bigger-bodied, male, yoga practitioner, Marc understands that starting a new yoga practice can be intimidating. Therefore, as a yoga teacher, his primary goal is to create inclusive yoga classes that are accessible to every-body, regardless of size, shape, age, strength, or flexibility. Marc teaches yoga classes at Downtown Yoga in Hammond, Louisiana. You can follow him on Instagram @embracewhatis
