Detailing the Primary Series, part  I followed by QA
In this class we takes it’s spring in a traditional Primary Series guided class. Following this immaculate practice form we will allow for occasional inspired off-springs into technical detail and useful hints for moving your practice along, potentially bridging spiritual gaps between your body, the practice and how it applies to our lives off the mat. We will explore anatomical mechanics for a deeper, injury free and more informed practice, as well as touching on the background of the Ashtanga method. Tim’s sincere, down-to-earth and humorous teaching style makes for a fun, focused and reverent evening.

Workshop will be followed by 30 minute Question & Answer session.

Saturday August 20th 1-3pm
The Yogic Breath, Part I – The Root of Asana
This class helps you locate your pelvic floor, your first step towards Mulabandha and your doorway to understanding the inner body, finding calmness of mind and firm yoga postures. Taking base in simple yogic breathing and light movement you will learn how to identify, activate and use the power imbedded in your pelvic region. Through asanas such as Surya Namaskara, jump-thrus and forward bends you will learn how to optimize your innate potential for strength, stability and energy. All Levels Welcome.

‘That which is the root of all existence and on which the restraint of the mind is based, is called The Restraining Root (Mula Bandha) which should always be adopted since it is fit for Raja Yogins.’ – Sankaracharya/Aparoksanubhuti

Sunday August 21st 9-11am
Nadi Shodana – Introduction to the Intermediate Series
In this workshop Tim takes you through a detailed, intense and fun exploration of how the Intermediate Series of Ashtanga Yoga unlocks the spine, hips and upper body, creates strength and develops a deep sense of calmness-in-action. Taking root in healthy anatomical patterns you will identify energetic pathways that lead to pain-free deep backbends, safe hip opening and a step-by-step method to master the arm balances. Also known as the Second Series, this group of postures challenges both flexibility and strength while teaching mastery of the nervous system. Students should have a regular practice of the Primary Series in order to attend.

Sunday August 21st 1-3pm
The Yogic Breath, Part II – The Breath Body
Finding your ‘Breath Body’ increases your aptitude for lightness and grace. But what is the breath body and how do you find it? This session explores the subtle body’s effect on your yoga practice. The connection between flexibility and breathing cannot be overestimated – a compromised breath makes for a stiff body. Working with simple twists and backbends you will learn how to identify, release and use your body’s innate potential for easing deeper into bending through breath awareness. You will leave this class with a blueprint of how to practice with more pleasure and less pain, while bridging the physical with the energetic. All Levels Welcome.

‘As the big bird soars, so the Yogin defies death like a lion over an elephant. This is how Uddiyana Bandha should be performed.’
– Yoga Chudamani Upanishad

Tim Feldmann is the founder of Miami Life Center which he runs with his wife Kino MacGregor . He was set on the yoga path by his teacher Lino Miele and is Authorized to teach directly by the founder of the Ashtanga Yoga Method, Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, and his grandson, R. Sharath Jois. A practitioner of the Advanced A series Tim is dedicated to Ashtanga Yoga’s traditional method.
A near fatal falling accident in 1992 led Tim on the yogic path. His teaching integrates extensive studies of F.M. Alexander Technique and sitting meditation with 20 years of experience as a professional dancer and an internationally acclaimed choreographer. His in-depth knowledge of functional anatomy, alignment as well as the idiosyncratic body and mind in stillness and in motion creates the platform upon which his solid understanding of the Ashtanga method rests.
Tim’s humorous, simple yet profound teaching style makes him a cherished teacher, traveling extensively throughout Asia, India, the Pacifics, Europe and the four Americas.
