VINYASA YOGA
CERTIFICATIONS
I completed the 200-hour teacher training through Balance Yoga and Wellness. I have
maintained an asana practice including Ashtanga and Vinyasa, since 2014.
MY INSPIRATION
I’m inspired by practitioners of all different walks of life who keep showing up. I love being in
community with all the beautiful people who remain faithful to their practice despite all the
background noise and challenges that life presents e.g. hectic schedules, illness, kids, you know:)
WHY I PRACTICE
It was January 2014 in Pittsburgh and our heater was broken. My roommate came home hair wet with sweat and beaming. I wanted to go get warm and happy wherever she was going. The next day,
I entered into the world of 26+2.
From there, I began Vinyasa classes, then Mysore-style Ashtanga. The discipline, suspension of judgment, non-attachment, and mindfulness required to move through an asana practice keep me on track—spiritually, mentally and physically.
Maintaining an asana practice has grounded me throughout every challenge I’ve faced since first stepping on the mat that freezing cold January day. I don’t think there’s been a time since that first class that I didn’t leave my asana practice (at least a little) happier than when I stepped on the mat
WHY I TEACH
I feel called to serve others, particularly to guide others through a process of self-healing and empowerment. I strive to impart the knowledge and wisdom passed down to me by my teachers,
with the hope that others may benefit from them as I have.
